Celebrating 108 Years

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your contribution to a truly wonderful Foundation Weekend. It was an incredible celebration of our history, spirit, and community, beginning with a moving and reflective service on Friday and closing with a beautiful trip down memory lane on Sunday.

Principal, Luke Baills with Past Student and guest speaker, Duncan Pickering.

The weekend began in the most meaningful way with our Foundation Day Service. A special thank you to Tonia Gloudemans and Lissa Thomson for their exceptional organisation of this event. We were privileged to hear from Duncan Pickering, whose heartfelt and authentic address left a lasting impression on all in attendance.

Gratitude also goes to Father Tim, Tim Penaluna, and the SLAB Crew for ensuring the sound and lighting enhanced the service so beautifully. Thank you to Lyndall Penaluna, Jessica Winton, Paul Nielsen, and Emma Boughen for the outstanding music that enriched the entire weekend’s events.

The catering throughout the weekend was nothing short of magnificent. Thank you to Ken Webber and the Chartwells Team for your tireless efforts. Also, a huge round of applause to our female boarders, who were exceptional in their roles as waitresses during Friday evening’s Sundowner event.

It was a pleasure to have Toni Lanphier, our PSA Archivist, with us throughout the weekend. Her knowledge, passion, and storytelling added so much depth to our shared experience.

A special thank you to Tom Porter, PSA President, for your unwavering support and presence throughout the weekend. From Friday’s Wall of Honour induction to Saturday’s School Tour and Lunch, and Sunday’s visit to Ravenswood, including a stop at Wilson’s House and a lovely lunch at the Railway Hotel (once a St Anne’s dormitory and classroom). It was a privilege to share the day with eight of our Old Girls and two of our current female boarders.

This weekend is always a highlight on our calendar, and this year it was made even more special thanks to the combined efforts of so many. Your dedication and enthusiasm continue to make this school community a remarkable place to be a part of.

Lastly, a quick announcement: The 2025 Lagoon Dash will be held sometime next week after the Year 9’s return from camp at Hidden Valley. Stay tuned for details and keep the training up!

Luke Baills, Principal
