Dance Concert 2022

Dance Concert 2022

Our third annual Dance Concert was held in the Rock Centre, performed by students from Prep through to Year 12.
The 2022 Cathedral Dance Concert took place on November 6 showcasing and celebrating the wonderful dancers and creative movement program we offer at the school. Under the guidance of our amazing dance teacher Suzie Searight, 90 students from Prep to Year 12 performed a variety of dance works in the styles of Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop.
It was a fabulous opportunity for the students to share with the audience all that they had been working on throughout the year on stage and in costume. Dance Awards were presented at the end of the evening to ‘Dancers of the Year’.

Students from Junior, Middle, and Senior schools have started their two-week sold-out performance of Madagascar with the Townsville Choral Society.  Congratulations to Rylee, Janae, Lucy-Rose, Willow (pictured), Oliver, Charli, Ben, and Lilly for their highly entertaining performances!

Creative Generation Excellence Awards

Congratulations to Year 12 students Lily, Ty, and Dakota who were invited to exhibit their final Visual Art pieces in the Creative Generation Excellence Awards. This exhibition showcases the most outstanding visual artworks by senior high school students in North Queensland, and all three girls should be commended for their amazing pieces. Thank you to Jenna Dann for your support.

The work will be exhibited at The Drill Hall Studio in North Ward from Oct 9-30th and is free to view.

Eisteddfod Excellence

At the first Junior School assembly for Term 4 we acknowledged the effort and commitment by our students who participated in the 2022 Eisteddfod Program. Head of Junior School Mr. Luke Baills made special mention of the Junior School Percussion Ensemble who achieved the highest score across the entire Eisteddfod with 96/100. Pictured are all of the students in Junior School who participated and/or received awards in this year’s Eisteddfod.

Art Extravaganza

This year’s Art Extravaganza was another huge success with a unique piece on display by each child from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 6. Visitors were provided an opportunity to contribute by creating their own pieces on the ‘sticky note’ wall of art, or the colourful and thoughtful ‘rock art’ collection.
