Early Learning Centre Enrolment

The Early Learning Centre (ELC) offers an ideal beginning to your child’s journey at The Cathedral School. Our program is thoughtfully aligned with the Junior School, ensuring our youngest learners are confident, capable, and well prepared for a seamless transition into Prep.

As part of this pathway, families intending to continue their child’s education at Cathedral are strongly supported through our enrolment process.

Join the Waitlist

The first step in enrolling your child in the Early Learning Centre is to join our ELC waitlist. If you are planning for your child to continue through to Prep at The Cathedral School, we strongly encourage you to also submit an application for Prep in your intended year of entry. This ensures your child is recognised as a future Prep applicant and can be prioritised accordingly.

ELC WAITLIST REGISTRATION FORM (XPLOR)

Once your registration has been received you will receive an email or call from the Early Learning Centre confirming your details. To secure your child’s placement on the waitlist you will be required to arrange payment of the Registration Fee of $50, within 14 days of receiving the confirmation email. Once payment has been received your child’s name will be placed on the waitlist, and the centre will make contact when a position becomes available.

ELC FEES

Waitlist Priority

The position of your child on the Early Learning Centre waitlist is determined by a number of factors, including:

  • The Australian Government Priority of Access Guidelines (as outlined in the National Early Childhood Education Policy)
  • Children who are future Prep applicants at The Cathedral School
  • Children who are siblings of current Cathedral School student(s)
  • Children of Cathedral School staff
  • The child’s date of birth
  • The date the application is received

Enrolment in the ELC does not guarantee a place in Prep; however, families with a confirmed Prep application are given priority consideration for ELC placement as part of the Cathedral enrolment pathway.

Take the Next Step

To begin your child’s journey:

Notes:

Once an offer has been accepted we will contact you to:

  • Complete a detailed Enrolment Form and pay the confirmation fee

  • Attend an interview with the relevant co-ordinator – this will provide important information regarding policies, programs, and daily routines and give you an opportunity to ask questions, tour the Centre and clarify areas of interest

  • Provide the child’s original birth certificate, immunisation records, and copies of any Court Orders, Parents Orders, or Parenting Plans relating to the child.

Most placements will commence from January, but there are sometimes vacancies during the year which may be filled from the waitlist. Places offered in the Early Learning Centre will be for specific days, and are not transferable.

Please note: Enrolment in the Early Learning Centre does not guarantee your child a place at The Cathedral School – a separate application is required.
