International Program
Students from around the world choose to study at The Cathedral School, Townsville, where they are welcomed into a safe and supportive community and immersed in classes and boarding life alongside Australian students. With CRICOS Registered Courses across Primary, Middle and Senior School, as well as short-term study options, international students can experience the richness of an Australian education tailored to their needs.
The Cathedral School offers a vibrant blend of cultures, encouraging tolerance, understanding, and a broader global perspective for all. Students from countries including Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and across Europe are part of our community – though they make up only five per cent of the school population. This means international students quickly develop their English skills while adapting to the Queensland education system and Australian way of life.
The Cathedral School offers two Short Term Programs for international students:
• Summer School – one term or less, on a Visitor (Tourist) visa
• Study Abroad – flexible enrolment of one semester, three terms, or one year, on a Student Visa.
All Short Term enrolments conclude at the end of the academic year. (They do not continue across the Christmas school holidays into the following year).
After completing high school, many Cathedral students continue their studies at universities across Australia and abroad, with alumni successfully pursuing careers worldwide.

Entry Requirements
The Cathedral School will consider enrolment applications from students wishing to apply for a Student Visa, subject to compliance with minimum requirements and conditions set by the School, and with legislative requirements of the State of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia, including any requirements to undertake extra tuition to learn English to meet the English language proficiency standard needed to enter mainstream classes.
