The Cathedral School Netball Academy is available for girls and boys in Year 4 to Year 6.

The Netball Academy is a fun and disciplined environment that provides athletes the opportunity to learn and develop fundamental netball skills (physical, technical & tactical) using best technique.

Athletes are given opportunities to apply skills in game-like scenarios while being observed consistently to detect & correct skills. Athletes are provided constructive feedback each sessions and are also guided to self-reflect in order to enhance their development. Each athlete will develop all netball skills with no specialisation or separation based on preferred positions. The rules of netball, as well as, game & court awareness are taught throughout the program explicitly and when relevant situations arise that can be used as coachable moments. The program also aims to facilitate scenarios for players to develop important mental and behavioural skills required for working effectively in teams, competing under pressure, managing winning & losing, and handling adversity & challenge, with constant guidance from coaches.

The Netball Academy also provides game experience through participation in various Netball Carnivals and Cups, including the Netball QLD Primary Schools Cup on the Gold Coast. These are always memorable and valuable experiences for the participants as players and people.

Overall the program aims to produce humble, hard-working, and reflective netballers who love the sport, value correct technique, show sportsmanship, compete hard, are good teammates, and demonstrate a strong fundamental knowledge & execution of the game of netball.
