The Cathedral School has a proud reputation as one of the leading rowing schools in Queensland, with several past students furthering their competition at a National level.

Rowing is available for boys and girls from Year 7 through to Year 12. Training is held on the Ross River which runs through our beautiful suburb of Mundingburra, a short walk from the school campus.

REGISTRATIONS

Learn to Row:
Friday 9 February – Years 7/8

• Years 7/8: Will receive an email with instructions.
• Year 8: Try out sessions offered in HPE lessons at the start of Term 1.

Season Registration:

SEASON DATES

Start:
• Years 7/8 Learn to Row: Saturday 17 February
• Year 9 to Year 12: Friday 3 May

End:
• Local season ends: Sunday 18 August
• Cathedral QLD School Championships Team: Saturday 14 September

COST

All Rowers:
$275 per school term
Inclusions:
• All training sessions with a qualified coach – including on the water and land training sessions at school.
• Use of rowing equipment.

Potential Additional Costs:
• Rowing attire.
• Cost to attend QLD School Championships.
• Learn to Row: $75 JCU membership.
• Squad: $317 JCU membership (Rowers), $111 JCU membership (Coxswains) for Term 2 and Term 3.

SCHEDULE

Training:
• Training schedule varies for different age groups, with the number of training sessions increasing by year level.
• The local regatta season includes a regatta every 2nd weekend.
