2023 NAPLAN

Cathedral exceeds state and nation

The Cathedral School has exceeded the goals and benchmarks set by the national government for literacy and numeracy in the 2023 assessment program.

Students across Australia in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 participate in NAPLAN annually, with the results determining the level of literacy and numeracy in each government, and non-government school. The results assist education authorities and schools in understanding if they are reaching literacy and numeracy goals, on a national, state, and internal level. This year’s results are reassuring for parents, and an acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of our students and teaching staff.

What is NAPLAN?

‘The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual national assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, and is the only nationwide assessment that all Australian children undertake. It’s a measure to see whether or not young Australians are developing the literacy and numeracy skills that provide the critical foundation for other learning, and for their productive and rewarding participation in the community. All government and non-government education authorities have contributed to the development of NAPLAN materials. (source: nap.edu.au)

At The Cathedral School, we believe that a well-rounded education begins with a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. Join Cathedral for a transformative educational journey where great NAPLAN results are just the beginning. We're not just educating for the test; we're educating for life-long success.
