Parents and Friends’ Association (P & F)
The Parents and Friends’ Association (P & F) is an active and vibrant friend-raising and fund-raising group within The Cathedral School and has been a vital part of our school community for many decades.
The P & F hold a variety of functions throughout the year. Details of these events will be published on our News & Events page.
2025 events include:
- Welcome Back BBQ – Friday 7 February (5-7pm)
- Swimming Carnival BBQs – Friday 21 February (Year 3 – Year 6), Thursday 27 February (Year 10 – Year 12), Friday 28 February (Year 7 – Year 9)
- Ballards & Brushes Twilight Concert & Art Show – Sunday 23 March (5-7pm)
- Carnival – Friday 23 May (5-8.30pm)
- The Connection Sundowner by the Lagoon – Friday 1 August (6-9pm)
The P & F had another very successful friend-raising and fund-raising year in 2024. The Ballards & Brushes Twilight Concert & Art Show, the Connection Sundowner, and the Race Day were all well attended events and raised funds for future projects at the School.
The 2024 P & F Christmas Raffle raised $7,240. This money was donated to local charities who help others over the Christmas period.
In 2025 the major event for the year is the biennial P & F Carnival being held on Friday 23 May from 5pm to 8.30pm. This is a major fundraiser for the School and a wonderful community event.
The P & F second-hand uniform store, in its new location opposite the Dining Hall from February, will be open on boarders’ travel day at the start of each term. It will also be open during term time on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8.00am to 9.30am. Opening times can also be found in the school calendar.
Donations of second-hand uniforms are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at main reception during office hours.

Outside School Hours Care
The Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) education program is developed and implemented in accordance with the My Time, Our Place – Framework for School Age Care. It ensures that students have opportunities to participate in leisure and play-based activities that are responsive to their needs, interests, and choices. School age children may do their homework in a supervised quiet area before joining the play-based activities.

For all new enrolments to OSHC, please register through XPLOR via the link below.
APPLY FOR OSHC
The Xplor Home App gives parents access to their child’s daily journal including photographs of the children and their activities.
Vacation Care Program
Our Vacation Care program offers art and craft activities, wet days, outdoor games, cooking, drama and various excursions. We also have visits from professionals such as QLD Surf Life Savers, police officers, ambulance and fire officers, and wildlife carers to name a few.
Parents are welcome to participate in all aspects of our program and attend any of the excursions with their child (if places are available on the bus). Parents who have a talent in a particular area are invited to share these skills with us at OSHC.
A full Vacation Care program is available at least two weeks before Vacation Care commences, to assist children/parents with organising items required for activities each day of the program. We encourage the children to be responsible for ensuring that they have their equipment ready and to be organised for their day.
